Cuando alguien te deja de querer o amar no hay mucho que uno pueda hacer, así es la vida. Del día a la noche, la persona que crees que conocías, es alguien completamente indiferente. Pasas de ser su sol a pedazos distantes de luz que se pierden en las sombras. Y por mas que este cambio duela, debes sobrepasarlo, y volver a volar.

Te puedes revolcar y patalear, llorar y gritar pero nada de esto las cosas van a cambiar. Te volverás loco por instantes y te enojaras y luego pensaras en como te puedes vengar. Todo esto en realidad es inútil, las cosas ya están decididas y es muy difícil que el destino puedas cambiar, solo te queda volver a volar.

Es importante dejar ir esos recuerdos que pesan y no te dejan avanzar. Si alguien ha decidido dejarte, no es toda tu culpa, tal vez no te supo valorar. La vida es extraña y nunca deja de rodar. La gente se pierde muy fácil y confunden la ficción con la verdad. Amar profundamente no se da todos los días, y si tu amaste con esa intensidad, algún día lo entenderá. No temas, no te detengas ni a mirar hacia atrás, todo por mas dura pasara, solo échate a volar.

EL ROBO INEXPICABLE DEL VOLKSWAGEN VERDE

Resulta que la mama de mi amiga que tiene 54 Años fue a un evento en el centro de cuidad. Se estaciona a unas dos cuadras del evento ya que había mucha gente y llevaba prisa. Al terminar el evento, regresa por su VOLKSWAGEN VERDE y se dio cuenta que se la habían robado. Y como la mama de mi amiga es de carácter fuerte y de armas tomar, le llamo de inmediato a la policía y los puso a trabajar. Fue al periódico y a la radio local a denunciar el robo. Tenia fe que encontraría su VOLKSWAGEN VERDE, pero no fue así. El carro nunca apareció. Después de una semana recibe una llamada diciéndole que habían visto el carro robado estacionado cercas del centro de la cuidad. Tomo las llaves extras y dijo, estos MENDIGOS RATEROS me la van a pagar. Al llegar en donde estaba su carro se dio cuenta que estaba intacto. No le faltaba nada adentro ni en la cajuela Y NO HABIA NINGUNOS RATEROS. Fue cundo se dio cuenta que no hubo ningún robo, sino que se le había ido el rollo y había estacionado su VOLKSWAGEN VERDE en la próxima cuadra. TODO FUE UN ROBO IMAGINARIO.

THE INEXPICABLE THEFT OF THE GREEN VOLKSWAGEN

It turns out my friend's mom who is 54 years went to an event in the downtown area. She parked about two blocks away from the event do to the crowed streets and because she was in a hurry. At the end of the event, she returns for her GREEN VOLKSWAGEN but realized that it had been stolen. But since my friend's mom has a strong character, she imminently called the police and put them to work. She went to the newspaper and the local radio station to report the theft. She had faith she would find her GREEN VOLKSWAGEN. But it was no where to be found, the car never appeared. After a week, she receives a call from a friend letting her know that she had seen the stolen car parked near the downtown area. She took the extra keys and said, THESE THIEVES ARE GOING TO PAY FOR. When she got there she realized that the car was intact. There was nothing missing in front or in the trunk. That is when she realized that there was no theft, but that she had parked her GREEN VOLKSWAGEN in the next block. THE THEFT WAS ALL IMAGINARY.

LA VIDA ES DEMASIADA CORTA, apenas abrimos los ojos un día y al otro los parpados se caen y no se vuelven abrir. Por eso uno tiene que seguir con mas intensidad el instinto del corazón que el de la razón. Nunca abandones tus sus sueños por mas extraños y difíciles que parezcan. Sigue tu pasión en la vida, y si no la has encontrado nunca dejes de buscarla. Haz que tu palabra tenga valor, ya que si todos hiciéramos lo que decimos este seria un mundo mejor. Si alguien te bloquea y te cierra las puertas por sus propias inseguridades, recuerda que hay personas seguras de si mismas que te abrirán las puertas sin que tengas que tocar. Nunca dejes pasar una oportunidad, y si por algún motivo se te fue, ve por ella hasta que la alcances. Ayuda al prójimo por el simple hecho de ayudar, aunque no sea deducible de impuestos. Intenta no juzgar y mucho menos si no puedes aportar una solución, recuerda que nadie es perfecto, aunque muchos se lo crean.

AMA CON EL ALMA Y PROFUNDIDAD y no con la lógica de la cabeza o la conveniencia. Si sientes que alguien te esta dejando de amar, pelea por recupéral@, pero no te humilles, tienes que aprender a dar la vuelta y seguir adelante que seguro te espera algo mejor. Siempre procura a la gente que te estima y te quiere, quiéreles y házselo saber. Aprende a escuchar profundamente, que es mucho mas complicado que hablar. No dejes que el racismo de unos pocos te derroten, de ti depende si le das mas fuerza o lo paralizas. Si algún día azotas al suelo y no te puedes levantar, deja el orgullo atrás y pide ayuda, haz lo que tengas que hacer para levantarte que la gente va a criticar de todas maneras.

NO SEAS SUMISO, pelea con tenacidad lo que es tuyo siempre y cuando sea justo, así obtendrás practica en esta vida y en la próxima vida todo será mas fácil. Cuando alguien te diga que no puedes hacer algo en esta vida, lo te lo creas, tranquilamente demuéstrate de que eres capaz de eso, y mucho mas. Aprende a domar la envidia, no caigas en el habito de la mayoría que en cuanto alguien empieza a volar le quieren cortar las alas. No trates de imitar a nadie, se siempre tu mismo, que al final del día a la única persona que tienes que superar es a ti mismo. No seas una de esas leguas que repiten todo lo que escuchan, entrena a tu legua que hable con sus propias ideas. Despoja la mayoría de la influencia que llega de tu exterior y nunca dejes de conocer tu interior, que ahí esta la verdad. La vida es corta, intenta ser feliz, para que el día que los parpados caigan, te despidas con una sonrisa en los labios y una paz interior.

I have a preppyfriend who buys a large coffee from Starbucks once a month. And when finishes his coffee, he treats the cup like a diamond. He takes the empty cup home, washes it carefully, and dries it. Every morning for the rest of the month, he makes himself instant coffee at home, but serves it in the Starbucks cup for their coworkers and friends to see. In Approximately 30 days, the cup begins to break up and that’s when my friend goes back to Starbucks and buys a fresh cup coffee.

LO QUE NO SABIAN DE LOS VASOS DE STARBUKCS
Tengo un camarada fresa que se compra un café grande del Starbucks una ves al mes. Y cuando termina, cuida el vaso como un diamante. Se lo lleva a su casa, lo lava con cuidado, y lo pone a secar. El resto del mes por la mañanas, se prepara su café instantáneo en su casa, pero se lo sirve en el vaso de Starbucks para que sus compañeros del trabajo y amigos lo vean. Como a los 30 días el vaso se empieza a desbaratar es cuando mi amigo va del nuevo al Starbucks y se compra su café.

Cuando la esperanza muere, cierta gente recurre a la SANTA MUERTE. Este fin de semana tenia que enviar un correo electrónico de emergencia y como mi celular se quedo sin batería, pare brevemente en un café con internet. En eso pasa un señor por la calle cargando en sus hombros a La SANTA MUERTE y se detuvo en la calle a descansar. Me levante y le pregunte que si le podía tomar unas foto al santo y me dijo que si. Me conto que la acababa de comprar, le había costado 100 dólares y la llevaba a su casa en donde le había hecho un altar. Me contó que la economía se había puesto muy dura en el país y con una esposa enferma de cáncer, le orillo a pedir ayuda a la SANTA MUERTE. Me dijo que la SANTA MUERTE es muy cumplidora, pero que todo te cobra y no perdona nada. Le pregunte que había pedido y me dijo que eso no me podía decir, que era un trato entre la SANTA MUERTE y el. Solo me dijo que lo viera bien, que no se me olvidara su cara, porque muy pronto el mundo entero iba a saber de el. Me dio la mano, se despidio y siguió subiendo el cerro con La Santa Muerte es sus brazos.

Me saca un vaso gigante y me dice "tengo Sprite, fresquesita camarada, casi de manantial." Y pense, bueno pues de perdida me lleno de soda. Veo que saca de su refri un pichelon de Sprite y le dije, "Y eso, porque la tienes en pichel, se le va a salir el gas." Y me dice, "Cuando fui por las hamburguesas me lleve el pichelon vacio y lo deje en el carro. Ordene dos hamburguesas y un vaso con agua. Llenaba el vaso con Sprite y hacia viajes al carro hasta que lo llene, esta soda esta recien ordenadita Cabron." Sea como sea, si cumplió con su deuda.

I have a friend who is very stingy and he owed me a meal for a lost bet. I believed that he wouldn't pay, but I was wrong. A mi MAMA le dieron una TAZA TERMAL para que tome el café por las mañanas cuando sale a regar sus flores. El problema es que cada rato se le pierde en el patio entre sus plantas y la tierra. La TAZA se empolva, se entierra y le pasa de todo. Y como a la semana la vuelve a encontrar y se pone muy feliz. La enguada, se sirve su cafecito, y a regar las plantas de nuevo como que nada paso. Esta mañana se le perdió la TAZA de nuevo.

They gave my MOM a THERMALl cup for her morning coffee when she is watering her flowers. The problem is that very aften she loses the cup in the yard between the plants and soil. The cup gets full of dirt and gets buried in the ground. Then like in a week she find the cup again, becomes very happy, rises it, it serves its coffee, and water the plants again like nothing happened. This morning she lost the cup again.

Tengo un sobrinito de cinco años que vive en Tucson, Arizona y fue a visitar a su TATA CARLOS al municipio de Caborca, Sonora, México. Andaban por los campos ganaderos cuando su TATA CARLOS le dice “que paso mijo, como que ya hace hambre, quieres una hamburguesa” y el NIETO le contesta “si tata, quiero una WHOPPER.” Y el tata sabiendo que no había un BURGER KING en CABORCA le sigue el rollo y le dice, esta bueno mijo, vamos por una WHOPPER. El TATA CARLOS llega a un changarrito de hamburguesas y antes de ordenar le dice a su NIETO, “con queso o sin queso mijo,” el NIETO le contesta “con queso TATA.” El TATA CARLOS le cierra el ojo a la mesera y le dice “Dos Whoppers con queso por favor.” La mesera les lleva las hamburguesas , y el TATA agarra el hamburgueson y cuando la va a dar el mordidon, el niño empuja la charola con la hamburguesa todo enojado y dice “esta no es una WHOPPER no la quiero, yo te dije que quería una WHOPPER.” Y el tata le dice, “si es una WHOPPER, esta bien rica mijo, hasta tiene aguacate.” El niño mas enojado dice “no es una WHOPPER, no la quiero.” Y el tata ya sin remedio dijo, “Bueno pues no te la comas” y la pide para llevar. Al rato cuando le apretó la tripa al NIETO y no tenia mas remedio, saca muy calladito la hamburguesa y se la comió toda, ni el aguacate dejo el NIETO.

Este fin de semana que fui a Hermosillo entré al baño de una casa y vi algo inesperado. Me había tocado ver como cierta gente que para relajarse en los baños leen revistas, periódicos o historietas pero nunca había visto LIBROS de ALGEBRA. Pensé “se me hace que esta gente me quiere apantallar, pero no me voy a quedar con la duda.” Abrí el libro pensando que era de adorno, pero encontré la evidencia. El LIBRO de ALGEBRA estaba rayado con palomitas cada vez que se resolvía un problema, papeles con números por todos lados, con decirles que hasta se aventaron LA RAIZ CUADRADA. La verdad si quede muy impresionado y cuando salí del baño les dije, “Tengo una amiga que a TRONADO su clase de ALGEBRA mas de cinco veces y anda buscando un tutor de MATEMATICAS, creen que hay alguien en esta casa que le pueda ayudar?

Looking to project his documentary in Nogales

NOGALES. "When the native of Nogales, Luis Carlos Romero-Davis asked if his documentary had ever been censured or if doors had ever been closed on him, his answer was a definite yes.

"Only in Nogales have the doors been closed so drastically on this project. The same border town where I was born in and which inspired 389 Miles “Living the Border” rejected my documentary, '" Romero-Davis said in a statement.

The young filmmaker explained that each city chose its own program, and Imfoculta, who led the organization of the event in this border city, did not screen his documentary, which lasts an hour.

"I have no knowledge about why his (Romero) work was not added on the agenda of Nogales, but he didn’t come to talk about it or anything," said Arochi.

Romero said Nogales preferred to present some Spanish shorts instead of his documentary, which was inspired by this city and its border problems.

For its part Cison published in its profile on Facebook on March 20 that "389 miles is an excellent documentary. It is an invited work at FDC and is not included in the official program. Each city decides whether or not the invited projects are included. Nogales decided to include the sample of shorts “expresion en corto” and Spanish shorts in their place. "

Arochi for his part said it was not a matter of saying that Imfoculta did not want to help a local project, and maintains that it was a decision of Cison. "We send an apology to Luis but it was not a decision of Imfoculta."

NOGALES.-Cuando al oriundo de Nogales, Luis Carlos Romero-Davis le preguntaron si su documental había sido alguna vez censurado o si se le habían cerrado las puertas, su respuesta fue afirmativa.
Y es que como según el cineasta y creador del documental "389 Millas 'Viviendo la Frontera'", que expone las travesías de inmigrantes en su camino por la frontera de México-Estados Unidos, en su natal ciudad no ha recibido apoyo en su proyecto e incluso mencionó directamente al Instituto Municipal de Fomento la Cultura y las Artes (Imfoculta) por la falta de difusión a su trabajo.
Y es que durante el pasado mes de marzo se realizó el Festival de Cine en el Desierto (FCD) en distintas ciudades del estado de Sonora y el documental de Romero se presentó una vez en Hermosillo, Guaymas y San Luis, dos veces en Ciudad Obregón y ninguna vez en Nogales, siendo la única sede con tres días de duración.
"Sólo en Nogales se le han cerrado las puertas de manera rotunda a este proyecto. La misma ciudad fronteriza donde nací y que inspiró 389 Millas 'viviendo la frontera" rechazó mi documental'", expresó Romero-Davis en un escrito.
El joven cineasta explicó que cada ciudad escogía la programación de películas, e Imfoculta, quien llevó la organización del evento en esta ciudad fronteriza, no proyectó su documental, que tiene una duración de una hora.
"Me resulta difícil entender cómo en la única ciudad donde el evento duró tres días, no lograron encontrar un espacio de una hora para mi documental", explicó.
"Se perdió una oportunidad única para promover el talento local, dijo Romero sobre el documental no se ha proyectado en Nogales, Sonora.
Luis Armando Arochi, coordinador de logística y artes en Imfoculta explicó que buscaron agregar durante el festival -también conocido como Sed de Cine- una sección con contenido nogalense pero dijo no fue aprobada por Cison (Cineastas Independientes de Sonora), organizador del evento con sede en Hermosillo, porque a cada ciudad ya se le envía un programa establecido sobre que documentales o cortos a proyectar durante el festival.
"Yo no tengo conocimiento sobre porqué no se agregó su trabajo (de Romero) en el programa de Nogales, y él tampoco se acercó a plantearlo ni nada", explicó Arochi.
Romero dijo que Nogales prefirió presentar los cortos españoles en lugar de su documental, que fue inspirado en esta ciudad y su problemática fronteriza.
Por su parte Cison publicó en su perfil en Facebook el 20 de marzo que "389 millas es un excelente documental. Es un trabajo invitado al FCD y no está incluido en la programación oficial. Cada subsede decide si incluye o no los productos invitados. Nogales decidió incluir la muestra de expresión en corto y de cortos españoles en su lugar".

Durante los tres días de proyección en Nogales se presentaron los largometrajes "Borderlines" y "Ser" y varios cortometrajes españoles, explicó Arochi y agregó que es la primera vez que se realiza un festival de cine de esta magnitud en Nogales.
"Nadie de nosotros teníamos experiencia de organización en este tipo de eventos, y ahora estamos en el proyecto de realizar nuestro propio festival de cine con contenido nogalense, pero todavía no tenemos fecha definida", agregó Arochi.
Romero también agregó que ha recibido algunos correos electrónicos de personas que estaban interesadas en ver su trabajo en la proyección en Nogales, incluso dijo que una doctora en la facultad de español de Pima Community College, Liz Rangel, en Tucsón se comunicó con Imfoculta para mostrar su interés en llevar a dos grupos de estudiantes de lengua y cultura hispana a ver "389 Millas..."
"Ella les escribió un correo diciéndoles que sus alumnos están aprendiendo sobre migración por lo cual le interesa que vean este documental por ser buena oportunidad para que vean dentro del espacio donde se filmó, pero las personas de Imfoculta nunca respondieron".
Además entre estos mensajes estaba el de el estudiante Adrián Pérez Garzón en el que decía "Nuestra inconformidad es ¿por qué estando en Nogales nuestros cortometrajes no se han exhibidos? siendo que estamos en nuestra casa (por llamarlo de esta manera) entonces, ¿dónde queda el apoyo al talento sonorense o nogalense?", escribió Pérez en un correo electrónico.
Romero dice estar tranquilo y entre sus planes está el presentar de cualquier manera su trabajo para que su comunidad nogalense pueda apreciarlo.
"Estoy decidido a presentarlo (el documental) en Nogales, incluso si esto significa proyectarlo en la pared de un edificio en la calle", expresó Romero.
Por su parte Arochi comentó que no es cuestión de decir que Imfoculta no quiere ayudar un proyecto local, y sostiene que fue decisión de Cison. "Mandamos una disculpa a Luis apero no fue una decisión de Imfoculta".

San Luis R.C., Sonora - El festival Sed de Cine, organizado por Cineastas Independientes de Sonora (CISON), traerá a esta ciudad al galardonado documental “389 Millas, Viviendo la Frontera”.

  Producido y dirigido por Luis Carlos Davis, el documental se centra en la vida en las comunidades de la franja fronteriza Arizona-Sonora: “Quise hacer un documental muy organico, natural, que reflejara todos los aspectos de la frontera. Solo usé la cámara, no hubo montajes, iluminación, edición, ni otros recursos que se utilizan en el cine; solo el sol, la luna, y los testimonios de las personas”, expresó.

  Su trabajo –detalló- tuvo como iniciativa plasmar todos los aspectos de la frontera, no solo el de la migración, donde regularmente se deja a un lado el impacto en las comunidades fronterizas, o el de seguridad: “Tomé a todos los actores, la Patrulla Fronteriza, el grupo Beta, los activistas, el coyote o pollero y a los residentes de la frontera. N o impuse nada, solo dejé que hablaran, cada uno tiene su historia y su versión”, agregó.

  El filme, presentado en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Guadalajara, y ganador de la Mejor Película en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Puerto Vallarta, el año anterior, le tomó a Davis cuatro años y medio realizarlo, recorriendo las casi 389 millas de la frontera Sonora- Arizona y las comunidades del área.

  “Fue difícil por lo económico, porque lo hice con mis propios medios, y peligroso porque estuve en cuevas, desierto, en lugares donde operan los polleros”, mencionó.

  Nacido en Nogales, Sonora, pero radicado en Tucson, Davis añadió que su mayor satisfacción es notar cómo el documental ilustra al público que no conoce la frontera sobre la realidad de la vida aquí; pero sobre todo, le satisface haber recibido la Iguana de Oro, en Vallarta, porque el reconocimiento proviene del público que vio su documental, y no de especialistas o investigadores.

 “389 Millas” fue presentado el año pasado en la Biblioteca del Congreso, en Whashington, y en diferentes foros de EE.UU., como el Festival de Cine Latino de San Francisco, en noviembre.

  El documental será presentado en el teatro del Centro Cultural, el 26 de marzo, con la presencia de Davis, quien después de la exhibición encabezará un diálogo con el público.

Yuma, Arizona - Expand the vision of the frontier and all its features is the quality achieved by the work of young film director Luis Carlos Romero Davis 389 Miles in his documentary, Living la Frontera.

A native of Nogales, Sonora, but living in Tucson, Davis Romero finished in 2009 just over 4 years of wandering across the border that divides Sonora and Arizona, recording the reality of those living in this strip, from the border with Chihuahua, to San Luis Rio Colorado.

Yuma, Arizona - Ampliar la visión sobre la frontera y todos sus rasgos es la cualidad alcanzada por el trabajo del joven cineasta Luis Carlos Romero Davis en su documental 389 Millas, Viviendo la Frontera.

Nativo de Nogales, Sonora, pero residente en Tucson, Romero Davis terminó en el 2009 poco más de 4 años de peregrinar por la frontera que divide a Sonora y Arizona, grabando la realidad de quienes viven en esta franja, desde los límites con Chihuahua, hasta San Luis Río Colorado.

El resultado: un retrato de la frontera al natural, sin edición, con toda la nitidez de sus ilusiones y sinsabores: “Aún siendo de frontera, siento que me metí a un submundo. Fui a lugares que la gente normalmente no ve.

Decidí darle voz a la gente común que vive en la frontera; no tengo a académicos ni estudiosos en el documental”, expresó el cineasta, quien la semana anterior visitó San Luis Río Colorado, para la presentación de su documental dentro del festival de cine independiente Sed de Cine.

Sobre la experiencia que le dejó rodar 389 Millas, Romero Davis afirma que “el tema de la frontera es más complejo que un blanco y negro; cada gente busca lo mejor para cada uno; cada quien hace su lucha, y ahí se ve; el agente de la Patrulla Fronteriza hace su trabajo, unos quieren cruzar otros detenerlos”.

“Cuando hice el documental entendí que la frontera es mucho más compleja de lo que pensamos”, agregó.

La idea, recordó, “surgio en mi cabeza y me empujaba a hacerlo. Salí solo, con la cámara y un micrófono; siempre fue más la pasión que los recursos”.

El año anterior, el documental fue presentado en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Guadalajara, y obtuvo el premio del público en el Festival de Cine de Vallarta.

Además, fue presentado en la Biblioteca del Congreso, en Washington, y en el Festival de Cine Latino, en San Francisco.

Este mes será discutido en un congreso que reunirá a estudiosos del fenómeno migratorio, en Reno, Nevada.
Entre sus trabajos, Romero Davis, graduado de la Universidad de Arizona, fue co-director del documental “Raul H. Castro: Dos culturas, muchos retos”, sobre el primer gobernador hispano en Arizona, quien gobernó la entidad de 1975 a 1977.

A punto de graduarse, en el 2008, Romero Davis plasmó en su cinta la trayectoria de Castro, nacido en Cananea, Sonora, quien fue embajador de Estados Unidos en El Salvador, Bolivia y Argentina.

Actualmente, el cineasta trabaja en dos guiones, uno para “El hoyo”, una historia de la frontera, y otra producción denominada “Dioses vivientes/ídolos rotos”. Ambos espera filmarlos el año próximo.

Hay veces que los detalles chicos son muy grandes. A este señor de la foto le dicen El CUATE y hizo fila en mi carro para cruzar la frontera de San Luis Rio Colorado para que yo no tuviera que esperar, ya que todavía me tenía que aventar un viaje hasta Tucson y solo había una fila para cruzar porque la otra la estaban reparando. Después de DOS HORAS y MEDIA de que EL CUATE hizo fila, nos dejó saber por celular que casi llegaba a la garita para entrar a los Estados Unidos. Me llevaron BARBARA Y CARITO a mi carro. Me despedí de ellas, de EL CUATE, me subí a mi carro y crucé en 10 minutos. Muchas gracias CUATE, BARBARA y CARITO!

There are times when the small details count for a lot. The man in the picture is “EL CUATE” and he waited in line in my car to cross the border from San Luis Rio Colorado, so I wouldn’t have to wait myself because I still had to make a long trip to Tucson and only one lane was open to cross because the other one was being repaired. Ayer mí cuñando me pegó con un fierro en el dedo y me lo reventó. Claro fue un accidente, como creen que me iba a querer pegar intencionalmente. Lo que paso fue que mi hermana chocó contra otro carro, y como pudo llegó a mi casa mientras llegaba mi cuñado con su pick-up para jalar el carro. En cuanto llegó mi hermana, mi sobrina (que va en pre-kínder) me pidió que le hiciera un cafecito. Se lo empecé a hacer con mi maquina de expreso y en eso llegó mi cuñado y le dije a mi sobrina que al ratito se lo terminaba ya que iba ayudar a su papá a subir el carro para que lo jalaran. En eso mi cuñado suelta un fierro ton todas sus ganas y me truena el dedo índice. Empezó a sangrar mucho y me dolía a lo loco. Salí corriendo a mi casa dejando sangre por todo el piso y mi sobrina me ve y se empieza a decir preocupada “pobrecito, pobrecito ¿verdad? Me pusieron bagazo de café para detener la sangre y una gasa. Me fui a la sala y me retorcía de dolor en el sillón y en eso se acerca mi sobrina y me dice “Y mi cafecito.” Y como pude le dije, “ahorita no te lo puedo hacer, a ver si al ratito.” En eso mi sobrina se suelta llorando y grita “quiero mi café!” Como pude se lo hice, hasta le puse nieve y al final ni se lo tomo.

Yesterday my brother in law hit me with an iron bar and gave me a huge cut in my index finger . Sure, it was an accident, how do you think he’d want to hit me intentionally. What happened was that my sister crashed into another car, and drove as she could to my house and waited for my brother in law to arrive with his truck to pull her car. When my sister arrived, my niece (who is in pre-kindergarten) asked me to make her an espresso. I started making it with my espresso machine, but my brother in law had arrived and I told my niece that I’d finish her coffee in a short time since I had to help his dad raise the car so it could be pulled. My brother in law pushed in an iron bar with all his force and hit my hand, cutting my finger. I began to bleed a lot and my finger hurt like crazy. I ran to my house, leaving blood all over the floor. My niece saw me and concerned she started to say "poor, poor thing.” They put grained coffee and a gauze to stop the bleeding. I went to the living room and writhed on the couch with pain. My niece came to me and asked "And my coffee?" I told her, "Right now I can’t, but I’ll try in a while." She started crying and screaming "I want my coffee!" I finished the espresso as I could, I even put ice cream in it and in the end, she didn’t even drink it.

Bus accident on the highway I-10 – Friday 5th 2010 – 2:30pm

This Friday I was driving from Tucson on the freeway to attend a film workshop in Phoenix. Suddenly the cars that were in front of me began to slow down until we all came to a complete stop. I did not know what was happening, but all the cars were advancing very slowly. Then I saw fragments of glass and pieces of a bus on the road and I started taking pictures on impulse. As I drove down the freeway, I noticed a crushed blue bus from México and tried to take a picture through the rear mirror of my car and barely captured the image of the bus. When I got to the workshop, I was told that six people were killed and more than ten wounded in this accident. Here, I want to send condolences to all those families who lost loved ones wherever they are.

Este viernes estaba conduciendo de Tucson en la carretera para asistir a un taller de cine en Phoenix. De repente, los carros que estaban delante de mí comenzaron a disminuir la velocidad hasta que todos nos paramos completamente. No sabía lo que estaba pasando, pero todos los coches avanzaban muy lentamente. Entonces vi fragmentos de vidrio y piezas de un autobús en la carretera y comencé a tomar fotos en un impulso. I called my sister on her cell phone to say hello. She said she was at the port of entry waiting in line to cross from Mexico into the U.S. She was with her two small children. Suddenly I heard several gunshots through the cell, my sister yelled and then the call cut off. I tried to call her back, but she didn’t answer. After a few minutes, she returned my call somewhat nervous. She told me that while we talked, a dangerous shootout started near the border. She jumped into the backseat to protect her children and the cell phone dropped the call. She saw how the man who sells corn on the cob right at the border turned off the basin of corn on impulse and started running. Other people, who were waiting in their cars, ran desperately leaving their car doors wide open. She saw an elderly woman that jumped from her car to the ground and slowly crawled until she was under her car using it as a shield against the bullets. Suddenly, on the other side of the street, she heard the last round of gunshots and a car that fled spinning the tires. The Mexican police ran after the gunmen among the cars lined up to cross into the U.S. vanishing in the distance. Right after, everything turned silent. Then the man who sells corn on the cob returned, turned on the pot and continued to sell. The people cautiously returned to their cars, my sister jumped back to the driver's seat and grabed the steering wheel and the old lady came out from underneath, all dirty and got in her auto. Everything was back to normal as if nothing had happened.

Llamé a mi hermana a su celular para saludarla. Ella me dijo que estaba en la garita fronteriza haciendo fila para cruzar de México hacia los EE.UU. Iba con sus dos hijos pequeños. De repente escuché a través del celular varios BALAZOS, el GRITO de mi hermana y la llamada se cortó. Traté de llamarle, pero no contestó. Después de unos minutos me regresó la llamada medio nerviosa. Me dijo que mientras platicábamos se desató una fuerte balacera cerca de la garita fronteriza. Del susto brincó al asiento de atrás para proteger a sus hijos y se le cortó la llamada. Logró ver como el señor que vende elotes en la línea como por impulso apaga la hoya de elotes y se echa a correr. Otra gente que hacía fila en sus autos, salieron corriendo desesperados dejando sus carros prendidos y las puertas abiertas de par en par. Vio como una señora mayor brincó de su coche, se tiró al piso y poco a poquito se arrastró hasta quedar debajo de su carro usándolo como escudo contra balas. De repente, del otro lado de la calle, se escuchó la última descarga de balazos e inmediatamente un auto que se da a la fuga quemando llanta. La policía mexicana corre detrás del los pistoleros entre los carros que hacían fila para cruzar a los EE.UU. hasta que se pierden en la distancia. Todo quedó en silencio. Después de un rato, regresó el señor de los elotes, prendió la olla y siguió vendiendo. La gente poco a poco volvió cuidadosamente a sus autos, mi hermana se brinca hacia el asiento de enfrente y toma el volante de su auto y la señora mayor salió de debajo toda sucia y se sube a su auto. Todo volvió a la normalidad como si nada hubiera pasado.

El sol empezaba a salir como a las 6:00 a.m., al mismo tiempo que quería salir el VOMITO de los cachetes de un VATO RE-PEDO que se había comido un pescadito zarandeado y como un TREINTA de CHEVEZ durante la fiesta. Empezamos a ver como al VATO RE-PEDO se le empezaban a inflar los cachetes, pero apretaba los labios, se tragaba todo y no dejaba salir nada de nada. A las 6:02 a.m de nuevo se le inflan los cachetes por tercera vez, pero esta vez con mas fuerza. De repente se levanto como resorte, trata de abrir la puerta corrediza de vidrio para salir de la casa, le da varios jalones y no logra abrirla. Da reversa y corre hacia al baño de la casa haciendo ruidos raros y dejado pequeñas huellas de su PESCADO ZARANDEADO por todo el pasillo. Agarra la chapa de la puerta del baño, habré la puerta con fuerzas y antes de llegar a la taza deja soltar todo, así como EL EXORCISTA. Inmediatamente se escucha una VOZ FEMENINA que se encontraba en el lugar equivocado a la hora equivocada, “HAY, ERES UN PENDEJO, toda vomitada.” Después de esa VOMITADA el VATO RE-PEDO, como que se aliviano y aun quería seguir pisteando.

Tengo un amigo que sufre de ALTA PRESION, COLESTEROL Y TRIGLICERIDOS. Toma medicamento casi toda la semana ya que hay días que se siente muy, PERO MUY MAL. Lo interesante es que todos los viernes como a la 6:00 de la tarde, levanta una CERVERZA y empina el codo y como magia se le quita todo tipo de dolor, la presión se regula y se siente al 100% todo el fin de semana. Ahí por el domingo en la tarde de repente vuelve el malestar y se siente otra ves de la patada. Para de tomar CERVERZA, toma una pastilla para la ALTA PRESION y empieza una semana nueva. Salud amigo que hoy es viernes!

Este fin de semana un BORRACHITO de unos 65 años se acerco a mi y me enseño su pierna. Tenia una mordida de un perro que le dicen EL CHATO. Me dijo que su vecino nunca quería amarrarlo, dizque por que era mansito. “Y mirra lo que me hizo el chingado perro,” me dijo. Le pregunte “Y le dijiste a tu vecino?” Me dice el BORRACHITO, “no le dije nada. Lo que hice fue agarrar una pistola de dardos de mi sobrino, le puse anestesia, le apunto y le di un tiro. Lo seguí hasta que cayo como costal. Después saque una tenaza vieja y le saque toditos los colmitos. Y ahí anda el CHATO chimuelo, ahora si que se deje venir EL CHATO .
